Counterfeit Paradise

Jack Haley as the Tin Man, Ray Bolger as the Scarecrow, Judy Garland as Dorothy, and Bert Lahr as the Cowardly Lion in Wizard of Oz character publicity.
Mechanism statement
Counterfeit Paradise is an engineered or idealized environment that promises escape from friction by making reality more responsive to preference, control, or fantasy.

Geomytha Reading

Geomytha uses counterfeit paradise for environments whose appeal lies in offering worldhood without the same resistance, opacity, or givenness as ordinary embodied life.

Geomytha function

It names the substitution of designed relief for the difficult reciprocity of a world that was not authored by the self.

Structural movement

I → This → All This can produce a world arranged around the claimant's preferences rather than open relation.

Claim boundaries

The term does not mean virtual, designed, therapeutic, or imaginative environments are inherently harmful.

Misuse warning

Do not romanticize suffering or treat friction itself as sacred; the question is whether the environment deepens or replaces relation.
